Hi,
Mithilesh was of great assistance in answering some questions about the use of the program STATA and explaining the significance of various statistical tests (I needed to perform a logistic regression and needed to know the signifcance of chi squared and fischer's exact tests on my data). Thanks alot for your help!

admin ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Answer to sample size query
The Sample Size required is governed by many factors. Some of the basic factors include the required power, the effect size that is required to be detected, one tail or two tailed test, the proportion of the sample in each group.
In multivariate analysis samplesize is extremetly complicated and is partly detremined by the correlation of each of the predictor variables with themselves and the outcome.
There are many resources available on sample size and a simple google search will make you informed at an intermediate level.
